The images, above, are from my solo
exhibition at the BlackRock Center for the Arts
(September 30 - October 31, 2009). CLICK HERE TO VIEW INDIVIDUAL WORKS IN GREATER DETAIL. Or view individual galleries (see links at bottom of page). The artworks -- all from 2009 and late 2008 -- fall along a continuum from purely abstract to quite representational. Since my interest is in exploring the relationship of motion and emotion, the pieces employ quite distinct techniques and material. In works where I'm more interested in the lines of tension the glass is often clear and industrial; in works where I'm exploring emotional content, the glass might be highly colored with internal patterns. In the abstract sculptural forms, I am continuing to refine a sculptural language that uses clean architectural forms to reference the human figure in motion. By also creating more representational wall panels, I can explore motion in more intimate detail. Each piece is one-of-a-kind. |
